چکیده

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a self-configuring infrastructure less network of mobile devices connected by wireless links. In this network technology, simulative analysis is a significant method to understand the performance of routing protocols. In this paper three protocols AODV, DSDV and DSR were simulated using Manhattan Grid Mobility Model. The reactive (AODV, DSR) and proactive (DSDV) protocol's internal mechanism leads to considerable performance difference. The performance differentials are analyzed using NS-2 which is the main network simulator, NAM (Network Animator), AWK (post processing script) and were compared in terms of Packet Delivery Fraction (PDF), Average end-to-end Delay and Throughput, in different environments specified by varying network load , mobility rate and number of nodes. Our results presented in this research work demonstrate the performance analysis of AODV, DSDV and DSR routing protocols. It has been observed that, under Manhattan Grid mobility model, AODV and DSR performs better than DSDV in terms of PDF

The Performance and Simulative analysis of MANET Routing Protocols with Different Mobility Models

A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) consists of a number of mobile nodes. These mobile nodes can communicate without any centralized control mechanism. MANETs are self-organizing and selfconfiguring multi node wireless networks without any infrastructure. In MANET the structure of the network changes dynamically. The fundamental characteristic of MANETs which differentiate it from other wireless or...

MANET Routing Protocols vs. Mobility Models: Performance Analysis and Comparison

This paper considers performance of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) routing protocols with respect to group and entity mobility models. The three widely used routing protocols have been investigated and compared: Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV), Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Dynamic Source Routing (DSR). Mobility models encompass: Reference Point Group Mobility (RPGM), ...

Effect of Mobility and Traffic Models on the Energy Consumption in MANET Routing Protocols

242  Abstract— A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a group of mobile nodes that can be set up randomly and formed without the need of any existing network infrastructure or centralized administration. In this network the mobile devices are dependent on battery power, it is important to minimize their energy consumption. Also storage capacity and power are severely limited. In situations such as...

Improving Quality of Service Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using OLSR

Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) are constructed by mobile nodes without access point. Since MANET has certain constraints, including power shortages, an unstable wireless environment and node mobility, more power-efficient and reliable routing protocols are needed. The OLSR protocol is an optimization of the classical link state algorithm. OLSR introduces an interesting concept, the multipoint r...
